Alumnus Gino Herring is a South Florida native and public servant. Most recently he served as the Voter Education Director for the Broward County Supervisor of Elections office and holds the Master Florida Certified Elections Professional designation (M.F.C.E.P.), a top honor for elections administrators in the state of Florida. Other service includes working for the Florida State Department of Labor, Department of Higher Education in Connecticut, and teaching locally at Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach.
He currently holds licenses in Financial Services and Real Estate in the State of Florida. But his passion for civics and service has ignited the entrepreneurial spirit in him, prompting him to found a nonpartisan voter education initiative. This vision has gained the support of major local colleges including Florida Atlantic University and Broward College, and Community Organizations like the Urban League of Broward County, which have allocated resources to the journey to create a more educated electorate. He believes this path is the foundation for all social justice; the power of the vote!
Gino has a background in social psychology and a B.A. from the University of Connecticut where he attended as a student athlete on the football team. But most recently he completed the Broward College Entrepreneurship eXperience (BCEx) program here at Broward College, giving him the foundation and business acumen to found and promote a successful startup company. He feels that had it not been for Broward College, his passion and overall skillset for achieving his goals would have fallen short. Finding time to give back is also a priority and he currently is involved in mentoring and social awareness programs. His mantra, "There is no stronger heart than that of a volunteer!"
