Laboratory Conduct

Lab coats and safety glasses are required for all labs, including laboratory practicals.

It is important for you to understand laboratory conduct is governed by safety issues. Unless safe laboratory practicies are followed, laboratories can be a dangerous place for students.

Please do not come to lab late. You may miss special instructions or guidelines for exercises. If you do show up for lab, please plan to remain for the entire lab. If you cannot attend lab, be sure to get the notes from someone who did attend.

Unfortunately, if you miss lab, it is almost impossible to "make-up" a lab since lab space is at a premium and the lab set up is often "broken down" by lab technicians to get ready for the next lab. It is often a one-time deal.

Sleeping or loud behavior will not be tolerated. If you need sleep, please go home. Drowsiness is dangerous in this environment. If you don't hear something, please ask the instructor and not your lab mates. Any disruption in lab will result in your being asked to leave the lab.

Turn off all beepers, cellular phones, and alarms on watches before you come into lab!
