- All quizzes
and exams will be taken online. Caution! When taking a quiz, you must be sure
to save each answer before proceeding to the next question. Look at the window
in the upper right to see whether or not the question has been saved. AFTER
you have answered ALL of the questions, then click "Finish".
- Quizzes cannot
be completed after the due date and time. Be sure to allow yourself enough
scheduled time to take any quizzes, exams, or complete any projects. Notify
your instructor immediately with any problems.
- There will be
no makeup assignments available. The use of notes, books, binder, texts, etc.
is not permitted for any test
- Make-up
Lab Practicals
Make-up exams are not permitted. This is physically impossible since
all labs are disassembled after every lab in order to make room for another
lab set up for another class.
WebCT-Based Quizzes
These quizzes can be taken any time prior to the closing date, and may be
taken via any computer with an Internet connection. Collaboration between
students and discussion of quiz answers are NOT permitted.
You will only be able to attempt each quiz once. Allow time to complete
each quiz before the closing date and time. Make sure you have a solid Internet
connection. If your ISP disconnects you during a quiz, that will count as
an attempt and you will not be able to repeat the quiz.
View Your Grades
Online quiz and exam grades will be available after finishing the quiz or
exam. View "My Grades" from the course homepage. Grades for assignments
will be posted within 5 BCC working days of the closing date of the assignment.
Grades for discussion postings will be posted 5 BCC working days after the
discussion has closed.

Course
Participation and Attendance Policy
Regular,
active, and meaningful participation in laboratory activities is a critically
important component of this course and is essential to your success. It is
recommended you check into the course site several times during the online
week. Frequency and quality of participation may effect your grade.
-
Participation:
o Active participation is expected of all students in this course.
o Check your email and course discussions regularly. Ask questions.
o Post and respond to messages.
-
BCC
Attendance Policy: Please familiarize yourself with BCC's Attendance Policy.
In addition, the following policies are required for my course. You
cannot make up labs. There are no additional lab courses in zoology taught
on South Campus.
- Regular Attendance
is strongly encouraged. It is doubtful a passing grade can be earned with
excessive absences. Roll will be taken. Do not come into lecture/lab late
or leave early. If you are absent and miss an exam, that represents a drop
grade for you. Remember, you cannot miss the final.
-
You
are responsible for material covered in lab. If you miss a lab, you are
responsible for finding out what was covered, any assignments or any special
instructions or announcements before the next session. This includes homework,
handouts, and other assignments.
-
Please
do not come to lab late. You may miss special instructions or guidelines.
If you do show up for lab, please plan to remain for the entire lab.
If you cannot attend lab, be sure to get the notes from someone who
did attend. I will not allow anyone into lab late. I consider an individual
late the moment I begin my introduction to the lab topic. Unfortunately,
none of the clocks on campus are synchronized, so it's better to show
up early rather than late.
-
Sleeping
or loud behavior will not be tolerated. If you need sleep, please go home.
If you doze off, I will ask you to leave. If you don't hear something, please
ask the instructor and not your classmates. Any disruption in lab will result
in your being asked to leave.
-
Turn
off all beepers, cellular phones, and alarms on watches before you come
into lab! If your beeper or cell phone beeps or rings during class,
you will be asked to leave.
-
College
policy prevents guests or children in the laboratory.
